I always love your insight on relationships and family. And on kids -I read a great book "50 Reasons not to have kids, and what to do with them if you have them anyway" which was written by Joe Sindoni, who offers his viewpoint as a single dad. He doesn't sugar coat the hardships. It's raw and real.

Kids bring joy, surprises and yes, frustrations -but that's what life is all about!

In some parts of the universe (not mine) women are perceived as losing value at time goes on and men theoretically increase in value. A simple appreciation/depreciation formula could be applied with a cap at around age 60. That's when the gender-value switches. Guys begin to look for women to care for them in their dotage and ladies realize how happy they are as "fish without bicycles."

That's hardly fair. A woman will give her best looking years to a man and then find herself back out on the market again. 5 year marriages don't sound like a very good deal for a woman when she is at her most desirable. It's all downhill from there.

What wit---her nun teachers would be so proud of her today. I went right through school with her and just as you read her works and attend a seminar with her being the speaker, you will still see and hear the same person today. You never knew what to expect next but you would be sure it was going to be something so far fetched and witty. Today, many of her friends can relate to her writings because we knew she was going somewhere in life and she has. Bravo, Barbara....
Andrea,
Thanks for the memories.....
